Eileen Lauster, MSW

is a researcher and trainer on the Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Programme as adapted in Ireland by Dr. Declan Coogan. NVR is an evidenced based, solution focus and strength based intervention. It is specifically designed to assist families experiencing child to parent violence or abuse. It is a short-term intervention lasting 8 to 10 sessions. Eileen is an experienced practitioner having worked in child welfare and adult mental health services both in the USA and Ireland.

Eileen is a founding member of NVR Ireland National Committee. This organisation has formed to assist practitioners in Ireland that are using or wish to be trained in NVR. For more information please see nvrireland.ie.

Eileen is a member the Irish Association of Social Workers as well as a CORU registered Social Worker.

In 2021, work started on PhD studies in social work and sustainability while continuing research and writing on child to parent violence and abuse and the NVR intervention.
